Tips for Best Results

  • Use a 1:1 ratio of unsweetened almond milk to heavy cream for the best creamy texture. This simple mix gives you that classic regular ice cream feel, without all the sugar and carbs.
  • Don’t overmix in the blender. Blend just until smooth. Over-blending the cream can cause it to split, which leads to a gritty or grainy texture once frozen.
  • Leave some space at the top of your Ninja Creami pint. Overfilling can interfere with the motor base and result in uneven spinning. Always follow the fill line and secure the outer bowl lid properly.
  • If your ice cream looks powdery after the first spin, don’t panic. Just hit the re-spin button. You might need 2–3 re-spins for that smooth, creamy result, but it’s worth it.
  • Still not smooth after re-spinning? Add 1 tablespoon of almond milk and spin again. Don’t use other liquids—they may make the texture icy or clumpy.

This recipe was tested and tweaked through trial and error to deliver a smooth, rich, and delicious treat every time. It’s now my go-to low calorie ice cream for warm weather or whenever a chocolate craving strikes!

Ingredient Swaps

  • No almond milk? Swap with unsweetened coconut milk or even whole milk (if you’re low-carb but not strictly keto).
  • Need a dairy-free option? Use coconut cream in place of heavy cream, your ice cream will still be rich and creamy.
  • Don’t have allulose or Swerve? Try monk fruit sweetenererythritol, or any keto-friendly sweetener that fits your taste and macros.
  • Want deeper flavor? Add a touch of sugar-free vanilla extract or a few drops of maple syrup-flavored keto syrup.
  • Chocolate overload? Sub in keto peanut butter, chopped sugar-free dark chocolate, or even chopped raspberries, strawberries or blueberries for a fruity twist.

  1. So the nutrition panel is very deceiving. It lists the serving as one serving with the low numbers. I suggest you change it to 4 servings which would make more sense. The reason I made this recipe was because I thought the numbers were incredibly low for such a large serving but in reality that’s not true. On the plus side it does taste great

    • Hi James,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback!
I’ve gone ahead and made a few tweaks to the recipe card template. I think it looks much clearer now and should be easier to understand the nutritional values.

I truly appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts—it helps me make things better for everyone! 😊

  2. I have made this recipe as described above. When doing the math for a full pint which I assume is the 1 container serving you mention the calorie count comes to 700 and carbs 8g, not even close to the numbers your showing. How do you get the numbers so low

    • Hi James,

Yes, those numbers are very close to mine for the full container. I use an automated nutrition calculator built into my recipe software, which uses average values for ingredients from a standard database. So small differences can happen depending on the exact brands or products you use.

Here’s how the nutrition breaks down based on 4 servings:
Calories: Container: 668 kcal / Per serving: 166.9 kcal
Total Carbs: Container: 12g / Per serving: 3g
      Fiber: Container: 4.4g / Per serving: 1.1g
Net Carbs: Container: 7.6g / Per serving: 1.9g

So yes – about 700 calories and just under 8g net carbs for the whole pint. Hope this helps clear it up! 😊
