The Recipe Story

If you’re a fan of cottage cheese (or just curious about the viral trend), this dessert will blow you away. I wanted a no-fuss, next-level high protein treat that tastes like strawberry cheesecake in a jar.

The result? Creamy whipped cottage cheese, layered with warm chia jam, and topped with crunchy keto crumble. Think cheesecake meets ice cream, without needing an ice cream machine, Ninja Creami, or blender drama.

I tested both layer orders in jars: jam at the bottom (my fave!) and jam on top. Both work beautifully, but we’re going with jam → parfait → crumble as the main layering for this recipe.

Ingredients

Whipped Cottage Cheese Layer

  • Full-fat cottage cheese

  • Swerve (or your sweetener of choice)
  • Vanilla extract
  • Lemon juice

Chia Jam Layer

Crunchy Keto Crumble

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberry Jam (link to full recipe) and let it cool.
  2. In a blender or food processor, blend cottage cheese, cream, vanilla, lemon juice, and sweetener until smooth.
  3. In a small pan over medium heat, toast almond flour, butter, cinnamon, and sweetener until golden and crumbly (about 3-4 minutes). Let cool.
  4. Assemble: In each jar or glass, layer half of each component in this order:
    • Bottom: Add ½ of the strawberry chia jam
    • Middle: Spoon in ½ of the whipped cottage cheese mixture
    • Top: Sprinkle with ½ of the almond crumble
    • Garnish with fresh berries and mint if using
    • Repeat for the second jar.
  5. Chill or serve immediately!

Alternative Layering:

  • Start with crumble at the bottom, then parfait, then jam on top—this gives cheesecake cup vibes.

Recipe Tips

  • Use full-fat cottage cheese for best results and a rich, creamy texture.
  • Add double cream to the mixture for an extra indulgent twist.
  • Want it no-cook? Swap in a quick mash + chia + lemon for a fresh fruit layer.
  • Keep it freezer-safe by using glass jars with lids—great for summer prep.

Ingredient Swaps

  • Swap Swerve with monk fruit, erythritol, or your preferred sweetener.
  • Use coconut oil instead of butter for dairy-free crumble.
  • Try raspberry jam or blueberry jam in place of strawberries (coming soon!).
  • For a cheesecake flavor, add a tablespoon of cream cheese to the parfait mixture.

Storage Tips

  • Store parfait jars in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze (without the crumble topping) in a freezer-safe container for up to 1 month.
  • Best enjoyed slightly chilled—not frozen solid.

FAQ

Q: Can I use fat free or low-fat cottage cheese?

A: You can use fat free cottage cheese, but it won’t be as creamy or satisfying. Full fat cottage cheese is best for flavor and keto macros.

Q: Can I prep the jam ahead?

A: Yes! Store in a jar in the fridge for 4–5 days. It also freezes well.

Q: Do I need a blender?

A: A food processor, immersion blender, or high-powered blender works best for a smooth cottage cheese mixture.

Q: Can I turn this into popsicles?

A: Yes! Just layer everything into a popsicle mold and freeze.
