Can you maybe tell me why the ice cream came out with a weird fat-like film? Like it’s on the sides of the pint, on the roof of my mouth, on the spoons, etc.

    1. Hi Heather,
I’m really sorry to hear that your ice cream turned out this way. It sounds like the mixture might have split, which can happen if it’s overmixed (re-spun too many times – it’s an easy mistake to make).

To avoid this in the future, try letting the ice cream warm up a bit before spinning it in the Ninja Creami. This should help prevent that unpleasant film from forming.

I hope this helps, and thank you for trying out the recipe!

The recipe turned out great for me. Full disclosure, it is WAY more than 167 calories in 1 container, though. Just the 3/4 cup heavy cream alone has 310 calories. I adjusted my serving size downward and enjoyed every spoonful.

    1. Hi Fran!

So glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for the thoughtful note.

You’re absolutely right, the nutrition info is per serving, not for the full container (there are 4 servings total). I’ll go in and fix that now to avoid confusion. Appreciate you catching it!

    1. Hi Kimberly,

In the Ninja Creami, “re-spinning” means running the pint through the machine again using the Re-spin button. It helps make the texture smoother if your ice cream looks crumbly or dry after the first spin.

Since this is a heavy cream-based recipe, one re-spin is usually enough. Spinning it too many times can actually start turning it into butter (no joke)! So just give it a minute or two on the counter first, re-spin once, and you should have that soft, creamy texture.

      Hope that helps!
